Esto puede ocurrir a través de un cataclismo mundial; la tensión en la esfera geopolítica actual y la disputa de territorios por parte de potencias\u003cbr\u003eeconómicas me plantean situaciones en las que todo aquel hermoso mar se convierta en un desierto y nuestras preciosas islas queden convertidas en inmensos terraplenes de tierras áridas y polvorientas. Para plasmar esto, la obra incorpora pedazos de maderas que reflejan todos aquellos naufragios que están debajo de sus aguas, siendo testigos silenciosos de nuestra existencia y de las tragedias ocurridas en el pasado; eventos que hoy en el presente pueden volver a ocurrir por distintos factores como una amenaza nuclear, un pedazo de roca proveniente del espacio o el cambio climático. Por otra parte, la mujer que aquí reflejo como personaje principal es nuestro tesoro más sagrado, nuestro hermoso mar de siete colores: una afrodescendiente que al mismo tiempo es mulata, indígena y blanca, llena de un dorado, azules, verdes y marrones...\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA Caribbean Without a Soul leads me to a very deep reflection, in which I think about the fact that our Caribbean could lose its sea and that this sea could, from one moment to the next, evaporate. This could happen through a global cataclysm; the tension in the current geopolitical sphere and the dispute over territories by economic powers present me with situations in which that entire beautiful sea becomes a desert and our precious islands are transformed into immense embankments of arid and dusty land. To depict this, the work incorporates pieces of wood that reflect all those shipwrecks that lie beneath its waters, silent witnesses to our existence and the tragedies that occurred in the past; events that today, in the present, could happen again due to various factors such as a nuclear threat, a piece of rock from space, or climate change.
