The Baliser is a common tropical plant that seems to always be in bloom in the rainforest. These flowers have always stood out from the green vegetation around them. In this painting I aim to capture the burst of color using abstract forms in the background to allow the Baliser to be the focal point. Using bold shapes and complimentary colors is my way of representing the life and color that I experience everyday in the Caribbean.
