I am continuing this exploration of world-building to create a safe escape for my transformed figure into something warped yet familiar and comforting.
In ‘Festering Fantasy: The Yard’ I’ve created a space reminiscing about how my brother and I would play in the yard in front of my parents’ old car riding our bikes up and down the driveway, “skinning we teeth(smiling hard) and knees in the process”. We tried almost every game possible out there and when we weren’t outside I was mostly spending time buried in colouring books, so I added some toys and hair bubbles in that style, cutting through the space. Caressing my shoulder is a handmade teddy bear I played with and used for comfort when I was scared of the dark, I want to bring more of these stuffed toys to life as lively friends within this world.
